Good to know
How much do medicines cost in Korea?
With a prescription and Korean health insurance
You usually pay 30% of the total cost at the pharmacy. The National Health Insurance Service pays the rest. Some people pay a different share, for example people aged 65 and over.
With a prescription, without Korean health insurance
Insurance does not pay, so you pay the full cost. Ask the pharmacy for the price before they prepare your medicine.
Without a prescription
Each pharmacy sets its own price for over-the-counter medicine, so prices can be different between pharmacies.
What the price on our pages means
The insurance price cap is the highest price Korean health insurance allows for one unit, such as one tablet or one pack.
Example
